Keshab Gangadhar Tilak was popularly known as Bal Gangadhar Tilak. He was an Indian nationalist, journalist, teacher, social reformer, lawyer and first leader of the freedom struggle. He was nicknamed the “Father of the Indian Movement” by British colonial officials. He was also awarded the title “Lokmanya” (popularly accepted or accepted by the people).
