Bhagat Singh Biography in Marathi

He was born on 28 September 1907 in the Sandhu Jat family in Punjab. Born into a family of freedom fighters, his father Sardar Kishan Singh and uncle Sardar Ajit Singh were fully involved in India’s freedom struggle.

Born and raised in such an environment, he was always inspired to drive the British out of India. It was all in his blood. He left school at the age of 13 to boycott all government aided institutions in support of Mahatma Gandhi.

He later enrolled at the National College in Lahore where he learned about the European Revolution which inspired him immensely. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919 took him to Amritsar where he kissed the blood of the Holy Earth. By 1925, he had founded the Naujwan Bharat Sabha for national movements. He later joined the Hindustan Republican Association and came in contact with other Indian revolutionaries. He started writing revolutionary articles against the British.

All his actions attracted the attention of the British. They arrested him in 1927. When Lala Lajpat Rai, a freedom fighter, was killed in a British attack in 1928, his life took a turn for the worse.

To avenge him, Bhagat Singh shot the officer, Deputy Inspector General Scott, for which India had lost the most active freedom fighter. Assuming he was Scott, he killed another officer. He then fled from Lahore to Kolkata and from there to Agra, where he set up a bomb factory.

He and his allies bombed the central assembly in protest of the trade dispute bill. He surrendered, was arrested by police, and confessed to involvement in the incident.

He went on a 116-day hunger strike in prison to fight the inhumane treatment of his fellow inmates. He was later hanged on March 23, 1931 at the age of 23. He was smiling before he was hanged at this young age. There were freedom fighters who did not think of life, who continued to serve the country with a smile till their last breath.

Bhagat Singh was a true patriot, he was an incomparable revolutionary from a very young age. He is a man who as a child dreamed of growing guns in the fields to fight against the British.

He never feared for his life and was always ready to do anything for his motherland. His demise sparked a wave of patriotism across the country. He has always been considered a martyr for the country, a brave son of Mother India. Today we all remember him as Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
