Radhakrishnan is a great teacher and a good philosopher. This Teacher’s Birthday is celebrated as “Teachers’ Day” in India. Radhakrishnan was born on 5th September 1888 in Tiruttani, a sanctuary in the Chittoor district. Sarvapalli is his surname. In recognition of Radhakrishnan’s immense mastery, he was commissioned as a professor of pastoral religions and ethics at one of the senior universities, Oxford. From 1946 to 1952 he was the head of the India delegation at UNESCO. He was Ambassador of India in Soviet Russia from 1949 to 1952.
