Such an innovative and artistic Oriya poem was born on May 13, 1917 in the present day in the village of Gurujang in Khordha district, in the name of Shri Sachchidananda Rautaray (Sachi Rautaray).
Sachidananda Routray Biography in Odia- His father was Prashant Kumar Rautaray and his mother was Mrs. Mukta Devi, but his grandfather kept him as his son. From an early age he was involved in the struggle for independence, and for this reason he was later expelled from the village school.
He later moved to Calcutta to complete his schooling. He was deprived of a bachelor’s degree from the then Ravensa College due to a lack of freedom of conscience and politics. He married Telugu Rajjema of Golapalli.
